Antenna point installation

Power and free-to-air TV signal are separate connections. Plan both for the new screen position.

Antenna connection and power outlets on an interior wall

An antenna connection where the TV will sit.

A power point supplies electricity. An antenna point carries the broadcast signal through coaxial cable from a rooftop or shared antenna system. One does not replace the other.

Some homes have no rooftop antenna, no usable antenna cabling or no antenna point at the new TV position. The existing system and signal path need to be checked before the right work can be confirmed.

Where a slim TV needs more plug clearance, a recessed wall box can place the power outlet and a separate brush passage for compatible low-voltage cables behind the screen. Fixed electrical work must be completed by an appropriately qualified electrician.

Two different services

Power runs the TV. The antenna brings the signal.

They can be planned neatly in the same connection area, but they remain separate systems with different installation requirements.

01

Power point installation

Provides mains electricity for the television and connected equipment. Position and plug clearance should suit the TV and bracket.

Fixed electrical work requires an appropriately qualified electrician.
02

Antenna point installation

Provides a coaxial connection from the TV position to a working rooftop or shared antenna system for free-to-air television.

The point still needs a usable antenna signal behind it.

Your quote at a glance.

Check the signal source
An antenna point connects the TV position to a working roof or shared antenna system. Adding a wall plate alone does not create reception.
Describe the change
Tell us whether you need a point at a new TV position, another room connected, or help with an existing connection. The signal path and cabling determine the work.
Separate services
Antenna points, roof antenna work and electrical power points are different services. Include each requirement so the quote can address the complete setup.
Prepare your enquiry
List the rooms needing free-to-air reception, any existing antenna points and whether a roof or shared antenna is present. If you do not know, say so.

From enquiry to agreed work.

  1. Tell us your suburb, the equipment involved and what you want to change. It is fine if you do not know every detail.
  2. We discuss the job requirements, access and any related work so the scope can be confirmed.
  3. Agree the quoted work and booking arrangements before work begins. An enquiry is not a confirmed booking.
